Does this sound good???????

I have a project in Health at school, and part of it is you have to answer “what are nutrients” so does this sound good?

Nutrients are chemicals found in different foods. Each has a certain part to play in helping our bodies to work properly E.g. they repair our body and produce energy and warmth. A balance of them all is needed to keep us healthy.

The five nutrients in your diet needed are:

• Protein

• Carbohydrates

• Fat

• Minerals

• Vitamins

There are 2 different types of nutrients those are:

• Macro nutrients- Which are protein, fats and carbohydrates. That are important in your diet

• Micro nutrients-Which are vitamins and minerals they are important also as well but no so vital as the others.

We also need to eat fibre, but this is not recognised as a nutrient because it is not absorbed into our bodies but is necessary for our digestive system to work properly.
