Do you often use Wikipedia for your homework?
Or prefer others sources, like books or other internet sites.

Keep in mind your TEACHERS are smart enough to see what’s on there, too! Wikipedia is great for getting you started, but you have to use it to direct you to other sources.
It’s great for general knowledge. But when it comes to earning school credit, you’re supposed to work a little harder.

It depends on the type of homework your teacher gives. If it is on some detailed topic, Wikipedia may not be useful. Wikipedia gives you only an idea about the basics. But whatever site you choose, don’t just blindly do cut-copy-paste.Because the teachers also keep a watch on these Sites!
You can also use Microsoft Encarta’07 or Britannica which are really good upto higher secondary education level.

Yes, but I always make sure I put any info I get from it into my own words. Wikipedia is great, as it has so many articles on lots of different topics! I think it is a fantastic resource, although many people can fall into the plagiarism trap!

I love Wikipedia, but not for homework lol. It can be edited by anyone and everyone so I wouldn’t trust it for reasearch papers and such. However, when it comes to my favorite bands, music and other personal interests, i use the website constantly. Dedicated fans always keep the info up to date.

My teachers usually wouldn’t accept wikipedia as a source since anyone and their mom can contribute … you have to wade your way thru the garbage. I was always told they needed a more “reliable” source…

I don’t use Wikipedia for my homework. For one, it can be modified by ANYONE. Another reason is that there are more reliable sites out there, such as scholarly journals (I’m a fan of JSTOR), and college websites.
