Basics of Organization from L. Ron Hubbard. It’s amazing and will change your life. It’s what helped me. Your question is very general so I can’t give you any other pointers than this.

Alright. Before becoming a Scientologist I was already pretty organized. In school I use to use a trapper keeper type binder. I’d use the main section to keep my homework papers, old tests, etc. I’d also use the main section to keep important handouts that I may need to refer to, which I would use the 3 ring part for. I’d use the section on top to store my notebooks, I’d have a specific one for each class. Then I’d just carry my books on top of that. I also had a small pouch in the front where I kept my palm pilot and my graphing calculator. When my main part would get filled with old homeworks and stuff, I’d clean it at home. I’d usually just store them in a acordian style folder until I no longer had the class. Umm, I’m not wicked organized at home, but I know where everything is and you can walk around in my room. Usually, I just put things away as soon as I’m done with it. I do a lot of things during the day, so sometimes I’ll be lazy and leave them out, although it’s a bad habit I’m still trying to break. I throw away garbage as soon as I make it. I put things away when I finish a project. Everything has a spot. After a while I acquire more things and need to make more room, so I plan to take a few hours to fully clean and do a reorganization of all my stuff. But everything has a spot. That’s the best way to organize. Just lay down some simple rules for yourself and start following them. I use to be a really messy person when I was a kid. Then I got better at it when I started laying down rules like putting things away when I’m done, everything has a spot, doing things as soon as I get them, etc. That last rule really helps, because it makes it so you don’t have to constantly write yourself notes, and if you just put it where it belongs you’ll have it when you need it. When I became a Scientologist and read Basics of Organizing, it just made it that much better for me to organize. You don’t have to become a Scientologist though to be organized, just use what I told you above and I’m sure it’ll help you.

Set your mind onto it. Make lists, flashcards, whatever, just always know what is exactly ahead of you. Not vague ideas what will be expected of you, but find it out well in advance, to be able to plan and organize your time.
