i think that students should have more holidays, but at regular intervals, kind of like how year around school gives u 1 month vacation time after every 3 months of school.

One reason is that students can be compared to machines, the more well oiled the machine is at regular intervals, the longer it will endure and stay efficient, versus the machine that is overworked and fixed only when broken or exhausted. It is always best to give regular breaks rather than an extra long summer.

another point is that students retain info better over a weeks break rather than a 3 month break and actually saves the district money and time as the teachers don’t have to spend the first 2 weeks of school on review.

it is better to have more holidays so that when a student must go somewhere or for some reason miss school, they may be more able to schedule it on a regular holiday rather than miss school, as the school district actually loses money for each day a student is absent.

there are many more points, but most of these are based on the fact that the extra holidays are accounted for by making summer that many days shorter.

Yes, definitely. I’m a student who works very hard at her work, and I believe that more breaks to simply unwind from all the stress and workload would do me and my fellow classmates some good. A student has many responsibilies that other jobs don’t require, such as focusing and learning new concepts, learning many different subjects at once, competing with classmates for the little integrity there is to be gained at school, making friends while managing work, and more. We need time to ourselves, too, especially because we’re blossoming individuals! Breaks are a great thing to look forward to, and they help me feel refreshed and ready to work.

Once you leave school, you will not get most of these holidays in the first place, so might as well get used to doing the same early on. Also with the high amounts of illiteracy rampant in the country we should learn to do without days off until we can boast our education system.

More holidays, means less school, and to tell you the truth.. they already have a big summer break, its more like a time off from school if u ask me..

More school means more to be taught to the kids,

More school means keeping them occupied with something rather than chillin on the road when there parents are at work

More schoool means, less uneducated/illiterate kids..

i don’t think so. i get so damn bored at home during school break. i usually just mess around with my friends at school.

but too much schooling does suck, i guess students should have more holidays as refreshment. i mean, we could die from overdosing if we study all year…
