lol, good question!

NO! you can’t! the most important thing to learn at school isn’t what people tell you — it’s how to use your brain and figure things out for yourself.

that way, when you grow up, you won’t believe EVERYTHING politicians tell you, or EVERYTHING you hear on tv, or EVERYTHING you read in the newspaper, or EVERYTHING you see on the internet, or EVERYTHING you hear in a bar, or EVERYTHING you see anywhere. you’ll be able to decide for yourself what is real and what is not, and you will have a little thing we call “discretion”.

good luck!

Actually about 1/3rd of everything you learn in school will be obsolete by the time you are an adult. This is especially true in science.

Everyone things that topics like history are more or less the same for all time, but I can assure you that very occasionally amazing new things are discovered about things we “thought” we knew about!!!

When the book “Guns Germs and Steel” came out, that changed ALOT of people’s perceptions about mankind’s place.

That was just 4 years ago, it’s maybe not even the case they’ve changed some classes that are actively being taught.

Astronomy is a fascinating science which changes almost DAILY, very exciting stuff, especially for kids, since they get get up to speed and know more about some of these topics than their professors without too much trouble!

Not really. But if you aren’t going to believe what they are telling you in school, you better do some research and have a very good reason why you don’t want to believe what your school is telling you. Get your facts right, analyze all the facts and then take a stand against what your school is telling you. Another thing, do not be afraid to discuss your thoughts with your teachers- if they can’t give you a fight over what they believe, or convince you that your view is wrong, they are not worth believing.

NO!! Every time someone starts beating you up they want you to run away like a sissy and get the teacher!!! How dumb is that? I was in a fight once and I stood up for myslf and I got the same punishment that SHE did!!!!!! Arrgh!! I’m still mad about it and it happened just last year. 3 days before summer vacation!! I hate it when your the victim and then they turn it around on you like your the bad guy!!! It’s politics or something!! Then they cover it up so more people come to the school and have no idea what kinds of things are going on!! They also put you in classes you weren’t supposed to get so the percentage of that class is higher than other schools. They do all kinds of stuff to get people to come to their school!! I’ve been cheated!!!!! Half the things they say about the school are lies!! I know these things from experience!!

You are really asking SHOULD we believe everything we are told at school.

The answer is that we should question EVERYTHING. I am not telling you to become an instant and total sceptic, but we go to school for information – real education is what you get when you take that information and examine it properly in the light of your own experience, the people whose advice you respect, and history.

So get yourself a real education – take what you are told at school, what you read in newspapers, what you see and hear in the media, what is given to you in books, and examine it all closely.

What you are seeking is not the Truth with a big T, because there is no such thing. You are seeking what seems clearest, most authentic and workable for you in the world you live in.

It also has to dovetail a bit with what other people have come to believe for themselves. A little overlap helps because you are not in isolation – you live and must cooperate with other humans.

Another very important thing to learn is that it is one thing to BELIEVE and another thing to KNOW. It is a bit better to know stuff than to simply believe it. You can believe anything – and there are a lot of people out there that do. Make it your business to check stuff out and get to KNOW it.

Always be sceptical if you are asked to believe. Always be glad if you are given an opportunity to KNOW.

So – if you are given information such as what parts of speech are in language, or what factors are in mathematics, or what chemicals are in science, or what organisms are in biology, etc, it is your duty to yourself to learn and know.

If you are given information that is subject to opinion, speculation or belief, you need to take it, study it, chew it up, and see if you can turn it into knowledge.

I hope this helps.

no, not EVERYTHING. i had a teacher in high school who told the class that she had made up a couple of fake words and explained to the class what they meant and then used them every once in a while. haha.

No. In fact, you can’t believe everything you are told anywhere.

Learn to think for yourself and do your own research. You’ll be better off, I promise.
