Can they keep me out of a class?

At my school there is this class called AP Environmental Science, we had to register to get into the class and some were accepted and others rejected [like 2] Currently there are several people that got into AP Environmental without having to register and go through the selection process albeit as pointless as the selection process was. The teacher says the class field trips (that are mandatory) are full and he cannot take anymore yet several of my friends 3 specifically were able to get into his class and 4 more are dropping the class. I have requested to take that class and have asked my guidance counselors several times. They will not let me in. It seems odd to me that there are 3 people who got into the class that was supposedly full. Yet when people drop there seems to be no more space.? I’m not a math genius but if there is a 100 max in a class and 3 more get in does that mean that 100 is not the max? and people drop the class does that not mean that there is space?

Get your parents involved in this! Sometimes councelors don’t do what they should do and you need to have your parents there to force the issue for you. If the councelor still refuses to put you in the class and your parents don’t think the reason is sufficent, then go to the principal and demand that the change in your schedule be made. I hope you get into your class, it sounds wonderful !!!!

Counselors are so …. ugh! I don’t have a word for it, but you should know what I’m trying to say. Like at my school, this weer we started school, and a lot of people are trying to get schedule changes, but she takes forever to get it done! And it seems like if someone wants to get the schedule change done faster, they need connections. I don’t like my counselor!
