Busing and Private Schools?

Using tax dollars to reimburse parents for busing their children to private schools is no different than using tax dollars to pay for free bus transportation to public schools.

Is this a convincing argument? Don’t forget that the Catholic Church operates more than 80 percent of the private elementary schools and secondary schools in the United States.

The argument doesn’t work because the public school district only receives funds based on students attending public schools. So the school district only gets tax dollars for those students.

Now, if the school transportation costs are separate from the district budget and funded separately, not using public school enrollment as a factor, it would be fair to provide buses for all schools, public and private.

(added) I reread the question and realized I misunderstood — you’re suggesting a tax deduction for school transportation not provided by the school district, correct? That seems fair.

Your question is truly lots a ‘interior sight’ one….and demands a close-by answer. My perfect wager as to the respond is not any. there are probable people who would emphasize the ‘no public money for deepest makes use of’ argument…yet, at present, it truly is probable no longer allowed through ability litigation interior the form of an twist of fate. Your question does no longer say if it truly is a ‘wide-unfold expertise’ question…or a private question related to your infant. I think of there may be exceptions in ‘unusual and particular circumstances’. call the deepest college first….then your interior sight college board.
