Your school goes to 5:30?? Mine is only until 2:30. I think shorter hours would be nice if school started later, like at 9:30 instead of 7:30.

What school do you go to that requires those types of hours? I actually liked the way my school did things when I was there. The first bell rang at 7:55am, tardy bell for home room was at 8:00am. We went to two classes (each was about 1hr and 15min long), went to lunch, and then went to our last two classes. School was out by 2:00pm. We had six classes but we didn’t go to every class every day. If I remember correctly, we went to 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th one day, 3rd, 1st, 6th, and 4th the next day, and the last day we would go to 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th. Then the cycle would start over again. I think it was considered a modified block schedule. We also started school on the first Monday in August and went until about mid May but we had a fall break (about 1 1/2 weeks) in addition to our Christmas break (2 1/2 weeks) and our Spring Break (about 1 1/2 weeks also). It was great cause we went the same amount of days as everyone else but our breaks were more split up so if you were getting behind in a class, you knew that by the end of the 9-weeks grading period, you’d have about a week or so off from school to catch up.

my high school schedule was worse! it was from 7:00am-6:00pm! i have to go to school before 6:45 for the flag ceremony. at first, you would feel so pissed off with your schedule but you have no choice but to follow it. later in life, you would realize that the training you get (from 7:30-5:30 of classes) would help you in managing your time in the future.
