Tell him first and foremost to be himself, it’s corny but so many kids try to change to be accepted and just get rejected more often than not. He shouldn’t always do what his friends are doing if he knows that it’s wrong. Not everyone will want to be his friend, and he shouldn’t feel upset about that because there are tons of other people who mean so much more that *will* befriend him.

If he’s going through a hard period of time, tell him he can always talk to you because kids need that. No matter what, he should put his grades first, but he shouldn’t lose his entire social life and feel obligated to get all 100’s. If he needs help in class tell him to ask his teacher for some extra time after school to catch him up.

Tell him not to sweat the small stuff because that’s what everyone laughs off years later and it’s a huge waste of emotions. Also, tell him anything you wanted to know before entering middle school.

I am a freshman in high school this year and the best advice I can give you to tell your son about middle school is this…

~Be yourself, if you lose yourself now that will make things ten times harder.

~Work hard, make your teachers notice you you will go far.

~Put school work before partying, that’s what I did and now I am in all honors courses.

~Have a good group of friends, not just one and make sure that they aren’t involved in anything they shouldn’t be. Friendships are a lot more dramatic in middle school than elementry.

~Lastly make sure he relaxes, things will settle down after the first week or so and by that point he won’t even notice a difference in the school atmosphere.

Good Luck!!

Do your homework. Pay attention. Hang out with the right crowd (good influences). Be yourself, don’t try to be like everyone else just for the sake of fitting in. Being an individual is so much more worth it. Enjoy the ride because in three years it’s over, and off to high school baby!

tell him that for the first few days to just go w/ the flow, every one is new @ one point and everything is pretty confusing the firt few days of school. after a week things will die down and everyone will become used to their new lifestyle. just makesure that he is organized. lost papers can be very difficlut in middle school, escicially in advanced classes. if ur kid is strugling w/ a class have a parent/teacher confrence and disscuse if the placement of ur child is right for him. i wish him all the luck in the world.

Hope it works out!!

If you have to think about it (if it’s the wrong thing to do), don’t do it.
