Obviously, your feelings are normal. Just sounds like your family didn’t do a terrific job in showing affection. which is why you feel the way you do. Just promise yourself that you will hug your kids as they grow up so that they won’t be saying this when they are your age. Because it most likely is not your fault, babies don’t come with instructions and your family didn’t show affection, I’ll bet. It’s not a great feeling for you to feel that you are a cold person, but how else are you supposed to feel if your family is not warm to its members?

I’m glad you are getting to go on your own and make your way. Eventually, you may re-think your family, or you will become reacquainted on your terms with your family, and they will have to adjust to the new you, who is more assertive and speaks up and asks for what you need from them. Eventually. Right now you have to find out who you are, and everything else about what your future is going to be.
