6th grade math problem?
Each child has 7 backpacks.
In each backpack there are 7 mommy cats. Each mommy cat has 7 kittens.
Happily each cat/kitten has as many legs and feet as nature intended.
Question: How many legs or feet are there on the school bus?
Favorite Answer
7 kids = 14* feet
7 kids X 7 backpacks = 49 backpacks
49 backpacks X 7 mom cats = 343 mom cats
343 mom cats X 4 legs = 1,372* mom cat legs
343 mom cat X 7 kittens= 2,401 kittens
2,401 kittens X 4 legs = 9,604* kitten legs
Now add up all the numbers with the star next to them :
14 + 1,372 + 9,604 = 10,990*
***Don’t Forget!!! The problem says that they are being driven to school , which means there is a driver, so count his/her legs too :
10,990 + 2 = 10,992 total legs
7bkpk*7mom*7kit=343*4legs=1372
1372+16=1388
but not foe m3.
