How about making applesauce with the kids. Teach them how to cut up the apples into chunks with table knives (Safety lesson) and put them in the pot or crock pot. Takes a long time to cook in a crock so you might want to use a pot, and then you could talk about Safety in the kitchen: don’t touch the stove, knives are only for use at the table with an adult present, never lay anything on the stove, like a towel or paper, don’t climb on chairs, tables, or cupboards, etc. Use sweet apples like golden delicious for the best flavor without adding extra sugar. Or you could get a variety of apples and save a few slices of each for apple tasting while they wait for the applesauce to cook down. They could eat the applesauce for lunch or snack.

This just popped into my head, but a cracker with red (u can use food coloring) frosting on it and use a cake decorator frosting thingy to spell out “STOP” on the cracker. And then when they are given the treat, you could put sprinkles out to let them decorate.

Stop light graham crackers (not healthy but fun!)

Spread some icing on a graham cracker and add one red m&m, one green and one yellow.
