Live on-campus still have no friends…..?
Well i transferred to my new college and I live in an apartment-style dorm on-campus. I have only one roommate, and we really aren’t friends. We make small talk, but she does her own thing.
I go to my classes and hang around school, there are no clubs im interested in, but people do their own thing. I try to be nice, open, and friendly, but it doesnt work. I have no friends at all. I find it very hard for me to make friends. What should I do?

You could start by getting to know the people on your floor and in your buidling. Doing so will help you feel more at home as well as open up social connections for you. (they introduce you to their friends, etc.) That was definitely something that helped me when I lived on campus. Also, you should look around a little harder for a club you might like. Most schools have a lot to offer and you just have to find the one that appeals to you.

There might be a club or organization on campus that you just haven’t heard of yet. There were some girls at my school who couldn’t find one they liked so they made one called “Not Your Grandmother’s Knitting Club” because they liked knitting. Anyway, keep trying to be open. It can take awhile but the fact that you try to be open is a good thing. I had a friend in a class with my during my first year. We studied together for class just because we couldn’t find anyone else to study with and now we’re good friends.

I don’t know where you go to school but you could check to see if there are some social functions that happen. I know at my school they have a party once a week with a dj and an arcade and things. This would be a good way to socialize. Also, maybe you could find a study group for a class or just somebody in your class that way you have something in common to start talking about and go from there.

You must have some sort of hobby – something you like to do in your off time. Getting involved in things you like (that involve others) will bring you into contact with people that you already have something in common with…
Other options – volunteer – get a part-time job – whatever gets you out where the people are.
