I’ll answer 6.

Again, since it was a European conflict, the US, very isolationist, chose not to get involved like they did for WWI.

They really were not even concerned about what japan was doing

b. You have the axis and allies. The axisconsisted of Germany, Italy and Japan

The Allies was Britain, France, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Greece, Poland, and the USA

c. People believe World War 2 started in 1939. On August 31, 1939, Hitler and the Nazis staged a Polish attack on a minor German radio station in order to justify a German invasion of Poland. On September 1, Hitler declared war on Poland stating one of his reasons for the invasion was because of “the attack by regular Polish troops on the Gleiwitz transmitter.”

France and Britain had a defensive pact with Poland. This forced France and Britian to declare war on Germany, which they did on September 3.

d. There were many many weapons used. For a full list go to http://www.militaryfactory.com/worldwar2/weapons.asp

f. Many reasons, including that Nazi Germany was sinking American supply ships because the US was providing financial and military support to the Allied troops (England, France, China and Russia).

Most importantly, Japan attacked the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, without a declaration of war or any warning that hostlities were being commenced, sinking most of the battle fleet.

The day after the attack, December 7th, 1941, President Roosevelt went before the US Congress and asked for a formal declaration of War with Japan in retaliation. With the exception of Janet Rankin (Montana), the US Congress voted unamiously for War.

President Roosevelt never asked for war with Italy or Germany before the Congress. Instead, three days after December 7th, Italy and Germany declared war on the United States.
