If you go to college, high school usually doesn’t matter to potential employers. However, if you want to go to college and you messed up in high school, it might be difficult to get into a good college. You can though start at a community college, do well there, and transfer to a bigger college, or just get an Associates Degree there.

If you don’t go to college at all, I still think most potential employers look at whether or not you got the diploma or not, and that’s what matters. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to do well all the way through.

I don’t think it would affect much. I had a teacher that once told me that high school and college are only going to help you get your first job, and most of the time you are not going to keep that job. The time period most important to the major career decisions come in that time period immediately after you have finished high school/college and you are in the same boat as everyone else – you have no idea what’s going on and have no idea what to do next with your life.
