How can you improve your English?
To improve your vocabulary, you should read a lot. It doesn’t have to be anything in particular, and you don’t have to understand every single word. However, don’t try to read something that is way too difficult or you will end up frustrated.
To improve your grammar, do lots of grammar exercises. There are tons of free practice exercises on-line. Just search for “English grammar exercises”.
To improve your spoken English, speak! Try to find a native speaker in your area or someone who already speaks English fluently and practice with them. All you have to do is have normal conversations. If you want to focus on a specific set of vocabulary terms, steer the conversation towards that topic.
1. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes. Be confident. People can only correct your mistakes when they hear you make them.
2. Surround yourself in English. Put yourself in an English speaking environment where you can learn passively. The best way to learn is through speaking.
3. Practise every day. Make yourself a study plan. Decide how much time a week you are going to spend studying and stick to it. Establish a routine.
4. Tell your family and friends about your study plan. Get them to push you to study and also don’t let them interrupt you.
5. Practise the 4 core skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. They all need to be worked on for you to improve.
