Proper way is numerically first, followed by alphabetically.

You can do it either way. If you have more files with numbers, then file them first so they are more accessable, if you have more with letters then file the numbers last so you can get to the files with letters easier.
Final note depends on what the boss says though.
There may be a method to the madness.
