“He still really wants to try the medicine but I think we are past that now.”

The second one is correct:

‘passed’ is the past form of ‘pass’

If you ignore the problem with the word “really,” you’ll want the word “past” rather than “passed.”

PASSED is a (*ahem) PAST tense verb. She PASSED me on the street.

PAST is an adverb or adjective. It is a PAST tense verb (adjective telling what kind of verb), or in your sentence, an adverb telling where WE are: “PAST” that.
