What’s the USA eduction system like? Do they have Primary School?
Favorite Answer
Pre-school: children up to five years
Grade school: children from five years to thirteen
Middle school: children from twelve years to fifteen
High school: children from fourteen years to eighteen
Undergraduate college: usually four to six years or until the student has a Bachelor’s degree
Postgraduate college: as many years as it takes to get a Master’s degree or a Phd.
Also, in the USA, attendance at public schools from grade school to high school is free to the student. It is paid for by taxes.
After high school, the state does not pay student tuition unless the student is somewhere near poverty level and even then the student may not get all of his educational expenses paid for.
We have 13 years of education, kindergarten through 12th grade, and when the State requirements are met, the students receive a diploma recognizing graduation from secondary education.
The quality, as you may imagine, varies GREATLY from district to district, and a lot of it has to do with funding and how the dollars are spent.
I hope that helps.
We have primary schools. It is divided by years (ages). It goes from Kindergarten through 12th grade (senior in high school). Usually, kids are around 5 years old and graduate high school by age 18. We do have pre-school but it’s not mandatory at this time.
Secondary school would be considered high school?
College is a whole other system.
