Charter schools are basically half public school and half private school in that they are funded by the government, but operate by their own charter. Because each charter school has it’s own set of rules, there are many different kinds of charter schools. It is almost always mandatory for parents to help out – parents are given job descriptions and a time-frame is set for the duties to be accomplished. This helps the school and the kids with parent involvement and any funding the government doesn’t provide.
