Why don’t you try to read ahead during study hall for the next homework assignment and then you could finish at home quicker and have time to work on your web page at home.

We all do a bunch of things in life that we don’t want to do.

They are definitely being strict, but I would totally expect that from a high level prep school. I’m actually surprised they even let you have cell phones and iPods with you. Public schools around here are starting to ban them.

To be honest, study hall isn’t just about doing homework. It’s about STUDYing. You can spend that time reviewing your work, redoing notes, creating diagrams, reading ahead in textbooks, redoing math questions, etc. There is ALWAYS work that can be done. Always.

Since you can’t quit, that means you have to accept the situation and make the most of it. If you really can’t come up with anything to study (unless you are making 100% on everything, there’s definitely room to study), start writing a novel or poetry or something during that time, something they won’t think is non-study worthy. You might even consider asking them what you are allowed to do if your homework is done, show them all your homework that is completed and take it from there.

you should’ve checked out the gritty details of this school before you enrolled in it. that way, you won’t be ranting about how bothered you are with the rules and regulations now. and, give the upperclassmen a break! think about it: they went through what you’re going through now, too. the least they deserve on their few years left is some peace and quiet. besides, i think you should consider yourself lucky; you get to go to an expensive school (if my guess is correct). why, in our university, there are only a total of about seventy desktop computers and all of them are 14″ running on Windows 98.

MMm.. It’s not you… your school is retarded,, The only solution is to quit. You seem like a very good student, so going to another college won’t affect your study habits.. Just tell your parents you’re very unhappy. Other than that, I don’t know what else you could do.. Unless you make your parents talk to the school and tell them to relax… Why are they so strict anyways?? Yes it is very retarted!

Personally, I feel that this is damn retarded. Why waste money and time to go to a place to do self-study?
