Computer Science generally deals with the building and engineering side where Information Technology usually deals with the end user side. Basically they represent the two sides of a coin.

When company XYZ wants a custom database sales system, the managers of the company would deal with the IT guy who would help them establish the requirements of the system – including both software and hardware.

Then the IT guy would go to the CS guy who would build/design the system. Once that’s done, the IT guy would help train the managers and users on the system as well as deal with the routine management and maintenance.

If the system had bugs or needed modifications and/or upgrades, the IT guy would go back to the CS guy.

both are the same.. only thing is that you will learn a bit more in information related subjects in IT and more of software related subjects in Computer science..

Job opportunities for both are almost the same…
