There’s nothing wrong with a community college, in fact, it will save you money in the long run. Most CalState colleges will take you. But seriously, if you spend two years at a community college and transfer, it doesn’t change the degree you get at the University. My brother started at a JC for financial reasons and graduated at the head of his class from UCLA’s school of engineering and is a lead programmer for a major gaming company. So don’t knock community colleges just yet, and apply to the CalState’s you want to attend; not all admissions are based on academics and GPAs, they also take merit and character into account.

Chico State or Santa Cruz State. The smaller the school the better. There’s an accredited year round University in different locations in Cali’ that will work with you. Each course last one month and the classes are small and you get more attention. The tutoring there is outstanding if you need it to improve GPA. It’s called National University.
