School supplies?

Okay, I know some people have started school already, so this is primarily directed to those who have started the 9th grade already. I have the following classes:

Rhetoric

Topics in Social Studies

String Orchestra

Algebra 2 Honors

Biology

Health and Fitness

Academic competitions

I was also wondering whether it is better to have an accordian folder with separate notebooks for each class or to have separate binders for each class. I was also wondering if you really need the separation: can you just have one binder or one notebook. What other school supplies do you need? I’m not really nervous, just want to get ready.

I like having seperate notebooks, but i have a file folder thing with a bunch of seperate slots in it for folders. i works good and i have all my papers in it. also get pens pencils, book covers. Im sure you won’t need them all on the first day of school,so when you go for your first day, ask the teachers what you need. They wont make you have it all on the fist day.

One really good binder with dividers is perfect for keeping all of your completed work in. Make sure you get one with rings that are not completely round but have the straight shaft in them. It will last you for the rest of your years in school. Also get several paper or plastic notebooks with prongs (one for each subject) and a spiral notebook too. If you color coordinate the tabs for the dividers and the notebooks (spiral and pocket) Then you have a color for each class and will stay organized easily. You use the pocket notebooks for things you are completing and as a calendar for that specific class. Put at least five pieces of paper in them One for each of the first 5 months of classes that covers each day you are in there.(inside the prongs) Write down what you did that day as well as the due date for things. You can also use this to plot a time line for when you will do which part of which project. You can also keep loose papers in it until you have time to punch holes and put them in the larger one. The spiral notebook should be used for notes from the book and notes you take in class. It is actually not a bad idea to buy two of each color so you have an extra when you need it. Buy plenty of notebook paper, pencils. black and blue ink pens and highlighters. If you keep your stuff organized from the beginning it will make your life a lot easier.

It’s better to have a multiple subject notebook, but also have loose leaf paper in case you have to turn something in from class, this way you don’t have to rip out from your notebook. I wouldn’t see why you would need multiple binders, those things are hard to carry around as it is! So I’d carry just one binder with folders in it, who knows, maybe you’ll get to school and you won’t even need a folder for every class! :] Also, get black/blue pens, a few pencils in case your teacher doesn’t allow pen, for Algebra 2 a graphing calculator, and unless mentioned by your teacher, nothing out of the ordinary. Pens/Pencils/Folders/Notebooks or Paper/ Calculator/ that’s pretty much it!
