Out of control teacher??

Im in ninth grade and today at school when a fire bell went off my classmates and I wanted to evacuate because we saw the other classes were but when we asked the teacher who was ignoring the bell keeping on with her math demonstration yelled SHUT UP if you dont follow directions we will burn in the fire @$% DAMMIT! after a couple of minutes we left the building, thats when we found out it was a drill. Do you think that we (the class) should inform the principal or something??

I know how you feel. About 2 years ago, my band teacher got mad at the class and threw a metal bar thingy at one of the chairs and almost hit my friend. We turned him into the principal and so far he hasn’t gotten that mad again.

As for your question, yes, definitely turn your teacher in to the principal. She obviously has some mental issues that need to be addressed by professional help. Good thing that wasn’t a real fire. I’m sorry she is like that. Hope things get better!

Good luck.

As a Principal, and a teacher, I feel that you should mention it to your Principal. (Especially if YOU think you should). I think calling for them to be fired ‘immediately’ is a knee jerk reaction. The teacher may be under a performance review by the Principal, and any information you provide will be done in confidence and help to give them a fuller picture of how the teacher is going.

The only thing I will say in the teacher’s defence (and it’s not much of a defence) is there may be some other stuff going on in their life. e.g illness or death in family, break up of a relationship, financial pressure etc. Of course none of this excuses their behaviour: you should still let their superior know, but it may explain their actions.

Is this teacher normally this way? Do they get angry often? Are they generally positive? You may also want to ask yourself, “Did my actions or attitude play a part in their losing it?”

All the best

Yes you should. That teacher wasn’t doing their job and if it was REALLY a fire, people would’ve been killed. She should be fired IMMEDIATELY!!!!

yeh, you definetly need to tell the principal, if it was a real fire you’d be dead.

Yes, absolutely.

If there really was a fire, you all could have died.
