Kindergarten cutoff date?
What is the cutoff date in California and New York? Does it go state by state, or is it a district or county rule? What about private schools? I was thinking it’s around November. Do you know of a website I could go to? Thanks!

Hmmm… wouldn’t it be easier to call the local school and ask? Seems that each school district will probably have its own policy.
Failing that, try the state web site, and look for links to the Department of Education.

I’m pretty sure it’s state by state because the North Carolina legislature just passes a law that said kids have to be 5 by Aug 31 to go to kindergarten (in NC).

They have to be 5 two weeks after school starts, if they turn 5 anytime after that then it is too late, they will have to wait until the next school year.
