Yes it is too early to apply for grants and scholarships. HOWEVER! This is her time to narrow down which schools she is interested in attending. She can start visiting the college representatives that visit her high school campus. When you apply for grants, you can not apply until January 1, 2009 of her Senior year. That application is the FAFSA, Free application for Federal Student Aid. It is a good idea to read through the FAFSA applicaton so you may be prepared to get the neccessary paper work from your parents or gaurdians. Have your sister really get to know her Career Center, Go Center, or Counselors for the scholarship applications. She may apply to as many as she wants as Long as she qualifies for them. Also, have her ask the overachiever Seniors what they are doing. Pay close attention to deadlines!!!!!!!! Scholarships are competitive!!College is expensive and everyone needs as much as they can get for their education..

fastweb.com is a good site for schoolarships. Make sure that your sister knows she must be admitted to the college campuses first before she submits scholarship applications.

The information is overwhelming so don’t freak out. Stay focused doing a good job in school and remember the Colleges and Universities websites are wealth of information. Look under Financial Aid Good Luck

No way! Its never to early to start your school funding. Um i am not 100% on whats out there but i come from a small town where even the grocery store will give you a grant or scholarship. Shop around in your area and i am sure you will find something. Contact the newspaper or go to the court house and ask around. They will be more than happy to hely you and your lil sister. good luck.

Also, tell your sister to contact the scholarship/financial aid department of the school she wishes to attend.
