IS it right for me to run again for student council president?
Coz I was the Pres. last year (7th grade) and I’m coming into 8th. Should I still run again? Or give another person a chance. But this is the whole school, not only 7th grade….

I was in a similar situation in college. I was a member of the Fisheries Society for all four years. My 3rd year I was elected to an officer’s position and then they had elections again for my 4th year and I was nominated. I didn’t run in order to give someone else a chance. No one thought that was nice of me, I got no respect and then I couldn’t put that second year of service on my resume. I say screw them and run! If you’re putting in the effort and doing a good job, why stop? As I’ve found out, nice guys do finish last.

As long as there aren’t any rules saying you can only serve 1 term then go ahead and run again. You have something that others won’t have: experience.
