Be yourself, and remember, no one can make you do anything you don’t want to. Besides, quite a few others will be feeling just as uncertain as you are! It will be a wonderful year! Just choose right over wrong, and keep those studies up!

Don’t worry the jump up isn’t really a very drastic one. As you start school, make sure to be open and willing to meet new kids from other middle schools, as these relationships may prove to become strong and sturdy ones which will help you through high school. The main difference in high school is the influence of drugs and alcohol in everyday life, and almost everyone is going to be doing it. Whether you chose to or not, drinking/smoking is a waste of money and brain cells in my opinion, I would advise staying away from it. You can still go to parties though! I do it all the time, if someone asks you if you want a drink, just stay cool and kindly say “no thanks.” As far as schoolwork goes, that is the hardest part, if you chose a hard path. That is another main difference in highschool, all the different classes to choose from. Freshmen year is usually set out for you so you’ll be fine but the following years make sure that you really challenge yourself to take some hard classes because trust me, it will pay off. Lastly, enjoy your years at high school, becuase they won’t come around again.

High School is fun and work, too. I went to high school and it was quite a bit of work involved, but I got used to it after a while. I also had a lot of fun. You can meet new people, learn new things and find out what you want to be when you grow up. There is also several choices in H.S. for all types of people. These are to name a few

Reg. Education / Special Education

Large class/small class

they also have study groups and have less workload classes if it is alot to keep up, if it is approved.

It will be fun.

Remember who you are. High school is just another stage in life. Its a bit more responsibility, and a little more work. Otherwise it can be some of the best years of your life.

Work hard in school but play hard too. Sophomore and Junior year are the most important for college, but dont slack off senior year just because you got into a college. They dont look too kindly upon that. Youre going to meet alot of new people, especially the first 2 weeks. Dont be afraid to talk to anyone…chances are theyre just as intimidated as you are. Who knows, you might just make a best friend (and in my case a future husband) that way. Dont take yourself or anything else too seriously. Always remember to have fun too.

Just remember to keep a balance and to not be afraid to try anything. Oh and remember that movies are NOT what high school is like. Yes theres cliques, they’re not as bad as movies make them look though.

This is the third time so far I gave this same answer. I believe it’s good advice and it will help you in the next four years:

Here it is:

Without being too much of a snob, surround yourself with people who think as you do. Your question sounds very level headed, and I’m impressed.

Try to steer clear of troublemakers and goof-offs. This doesn’t mean you need to ignore these people or stick your nose up at them, just don’t let these people suck you in to their style of learning.

Take courses that you’re going to get something out of and you’re sure you will be excel at. Both guys and ladies can take shop and automotive classes these days. There’s no harm in learning a bit of both.

Good Luck!

Well, I know that at our school, all the 8th grade teachers ever did was “prepare us for our wake-up call”. There is no wake-up call. Everyone exaggerates. I know it’s hard, but don’t stress. It’s nothing. really, it’s as simple as that. Don’t listen to what others say.

1. it’s not true.

2. they’re trying to scare the “little freshman”

or

3. they have no clue what they’re talking about [ the case with most people]

Be yourself and remember to breathe the first day.

=]

you’ll do fine.

I’m going into tenth grade now, but when I first got into High School, I thought everything would be a breeze. ((Cause I never really studied before)) Boy was I wrong. You have to study!! Even though it’s boring, it’s what is going to get you through your classes. And don’t try to hard to fit in or be popular. Be yourself and smile. 🙂

im scared for high school too, but my sister said that the four years will go by really fast. everyone sticks to their own group of friends, and all you really have to worry about is getting to class on time, and homework. She said the after school pep rallys are amazing!

Yeah things are wayyy different. You’re just gonna be more independent and do things on your own. It’s more “grown up” and it can be really fun if you just do your school work and know when there is time to have fun.
