illegal immigrant going to college?

I live in the united states and my status is currently illegal. I will be graduating from high school next summer, and theres a couple of colleges that i would like to attend, but i heard that since im not a citizen, i have to pay out-of-state tuition. Is that true? Is the any kind of help i could get to pay off for colllege even though im illegal? thanks.

You can try to get a scholarship of some kind. And some community colleges will allow you in regardless of status. You will not have much luck with the big universities though. Good luck with whatever happens in your life though!

You are currently breaking U.S. law (the out-of-state tuition phrase gives away that you are in the U.S.) therefore you should not be eligible to attend a tax-supported university at all.

If you wish to attend a tax-supported university, or receive any kind of tax related help, please return to your country of origin and apply for an F-1 visa to attend school here legally.

I am not against legal immigration. In fact, I think we need to loosen up the standards. However, I AM against breaking the law and then expecting taxpayers to support lawbreakers.

So, bottom line … go home and come back legally. Wouldn’t it be nice not to be scared of being caught all the time?

To a degree yes. However, there are professors across the country that report these law breakers and have them removed from school. Personally I turned in 4 last semester and 2 this semester. The school revokes their enrollment and some of us go a step further and report the fraud to law enforcement. I’ve seen cases where entire families were deported as a result of being reported.

No, that is not true. You only pay out of state tuition if you have not reside in what ever state you plan on going to college too for more than a year. If you’ve lived in the same state as your college for more than a year, you’ll pay regular tuition. I believe the college will ask to see your high school diploma. No, there is no help to pay off for college if you are illegal, well atleast none that i am aware of.

Listen, I appreciate the fact that you want to go to college and better yourself but you arent entitled to ANYTHING when it comes to funding or student aid. There are LEGAL citizens in this country who are entitled to those funds but don’t receive them so what makes you think you deserve a penny. Get yourself legal and then we’ll talk. And to Fred Fred Burger, I said “GET LEGAL AND WE’LL TALK”. How is that not a fair thing to ask??????

1. Go back to the country where you are legal.

2. Apply for a college.

3. Reenter the USA LEGALLY.

4. Go to college LEGALLY.

You’re welcome.

Look for a hispanic organization and call them. Sometimes there are programs where people will back you for education if they think you have promise.
