i do really suck at exams!! and everyones different..but here is what i did. I would make flash card of EVERYTHING every possible definition, question…anything on the study sheet (cuz you usually get one). I would do this 4 days or so before the test. I would also right in red ink because supposedly red ink sticks in your brain better. But ne ways i would right the question on the front and the answer on the back. When i would get a question right without looking at the answer i would put it aside, if i got it wrong i would read the answer and put it back in my pile. I would do this until i got all the answers right. Do this every night for like 4 nights before the test and take the flash cards to school with you the day of the test and study the ones that you have problems with! It worked for me! I hope it works for you!

The first thing to do is relax. The second thing to do is not cram. Last minute cram sessions are great, and I swear by them, but it is very difficult to learn in these cram sessions.

Just do a little bit at a time. About a week in advance, separate the material in sections. If I had a test in 7 days, I would separate the material into 5 sections. Day 1 through Day 5 would be for studying each section. For a portion of Day 6 review everything together and on Day 7, the day of the test, study the study guide that, ideally, you have been making for each section of material.

I’ve also heard that if you are doing something while you’re studying, like drinking a Pepsi, if you drink a Pepsi during the test, you will be more likely to remember the material. I don’t know if that theory holds any water, but my game plan always works for me.

Good Luck

For History finals, we had to remeber all the dates from the stone ages to early chinease history. We also had to memorize what haappen roughly in each one.

So my friend and i wrote each one down on a flash card on one side, and a very brief summary of what happend on the other. We took 4 at a time, and sang a song about each one a really short one, and we made pic. of some we jsut couldnt get. We did this for two days, and studied for a straight 4 hours and i memorized each one!!! If i got a really hard one right, i got a cookie, or a treat. Sounds lame, but it worked, and got a B+ on my final too!! the lame rhymes worked after all! ๐Ÿ™‚ it is differnt for everyone, so try differnt techniques that seem to work for you personally. Best of luck!!

It depends what you are trying to remember. If it is lists of things, try acronyms (where you use a word to remember a list. For example, if you were trying to remember the names of the Great Lakes, you could use the word “homes”:

H – Huron

O – Ontario

M – Michigan

E – Erie

S – Superior
