I have so much schoolwork to do. How do I cope with this much stress?

My teachers act as if we don’t have to study anything else aside from their subject. They usually make me stay in and make me late for the after-school activities I have.

Let’s put things in the proper perspective. The main reason that you go to school is or should be to do well in your classes . It is not for after-school activities.

You seem to be having problems in your classes, in doing your class work and in completing your homework.

Look at these too. Is the work too difficult for you? Do you understand what is being taught in class? are you doing your homework properly. Do you have any trouble in either the speed of your reading or in reading comprehension? Do you know how to plan your time properly? Are you well organized?

Do you need better techniques in doing your homework?

The above questions may show some of your problems, if any

Your teachers are to be complimented not criticized for keeping you at the end of class. They must feel that you need extra help with your schoolwork and that they can help you. Remember that when they keep you in they are keeping themselves in too. Teachers have lives also. Accept the help graciously and thankfully and without bitterness.

American schools love to load their students down with busy work. I have to assume that this is not an effective way to learn, since America keeps getting their asses handed to them on international comparison studies. But I digress.

Take a long hard look at your life and cut out the non-essential stuff. Sadly colleges are really just going to look at your GPA. They are not fussed if you played some football or marched in a band. They want to know if you have demonstrated the ability to retain information in the short term and then pass a multiple choice test. If you can do that, you can sail through much of the American education system.

So unless you are so talented at after school activities that you think you can get an amazing college scholarship, then drop out of them. Get the work done quickly and efficiently with good time management. Consider that it will soon be over and you can relax a little.

What r ur afterschool activities? maybe you should let go a few of those, ur classes r more important. college professors does act as though you only have their class and no other but it’s just the way it is. you have to just make it work, join study groups, create a study group! good luck!

Hey, don’t complain – in the working world, you might have to write a brief on the spot for a deadline. What you are going through is nothing more than learning and training. You are learning how to think with things, act on doing what needs to be done, training yourself to do stuff properly. Wait until you hit college! lol

Time management and good planning should keep the stress away from your school work which should simply become a routine!

Take a deep conscious breath, key into your internal conversations, and give yourself a pat on the back for achieving what you have and tell yourself “I can do this!”
