I have difficulty with English vocabulary as well too, and people say that reading books helps you. I have read over 100 books and they have not helped me at all. I also read dictionaries but whatever goes in my head today it will be completely gone tomorrow as if I never read anything. I also do a lot of word puzzles, even note cards. I took a few speech classes they did not help either. I guess my brain is not expended like most people.

i would recommend you read a lot of books. any kind of books that you like or enjoy, and write down words that you don’t know or don’t understand, then look them up in a dictionary, you will then refer back to the book that you’ve read and see how they are used in that context, it will help you understand the word better. Do this with the books you like, so you will enjoy the process and you will not get bored. I would also recommend you watch a good amount of tv, I know it sounds bad, but it will help you and you will learn some new phrases and vocabs that will help you in the real world. Watch tv programs that you will enjoy, and watch some news programs as well.
