I am 16 and want to drop out of school. Will the Marines still take me?

I am 16 and I am fed up with being homeschooled. Can I drop out? If I do will the Marines still take me without a highschool diploma when I am 18?

They won’t take you without a high-school diploma or GED. If you don’t like being home-schooled, try another method. You could enroll in on-line classes, or try public school. You might like it. You could explore what charter schools are available in your area. Some “community high schools” cater to students like yourself that are thinking about dropping out and make an extra effort to keep kids interested with cool activities and field-trips.

No…the Marine’s (nor the Army, Navy or Air Force) want dropouts…they require you to have a diploma….if you can’t complete high school…how in the heck would you expect to complete basic training?

Stay in school…you’ve made it this far…why quit when you’re so close to graduating? Besides, I can promise you NO branch of our military will want someone who can’t tough it out when times are hard….

Stick it out…buckle-down….I PROMISE you, you will NOT regret it…

That’s right. You need a HS diploma or GED. I’m not sure, but I think if ur a dropout, u can take their test, and if u pass, ur in. So, ask the recruiters.

If you’re going to drop out, at least get your GED.

Have respect for yourself, and think long and hard about your future. (and your kids)
