They also have a day where they set up stands for some of the clubs during lunch. They have actual members in the club who talk to you and show you what the club is all about. You can also sign up for a club there. That’s what my high school does however, all high schools are different. But you can’t sign up for a club before school starts. On the first couple of weeks of school they will announce the club meetings. Hope I helped I wondered the same thing when I was new to high school.

Also, find out who the sponsor or officers of the club are and inquire through them. Let them know you are interested.
