Is it wrong to know what you want to be???

I am going into the 9th grade and I already know what I want to be. I want to be a teacher and an EMT. Is that bad?

Why would it be bad to know what you want to be?

I know people that are in their 20s to their 50s who still don’t know what they want to be.

Knowing what you want is ALWAYS good. Whether it be knowing what you want to be, or just knowing what you want.

Congrats

No it is always important to know what you want to do once you move out of your parents home.

If you are going to be a teacher and an EMT then do not become a university professor since in addition to teaching they have to do mandatory research and it may not give you time to be an EMT unless you are great at time management and most people are not.

Start reading EMT books and start what discipline you want to be a teacher of.

I wish you the best.

Of course not. I can relate because I’m a ninth grader going onto tenth. I’m a guy that is very interested in business and real estate investing fundamentals. I knew what i wanted to be since the 8th grade which is of course to become an entrepreneur, and to eventually create a franchise and invest in many real estate rental properties.

It is never too early to know what to be when you become an adult. You sound like a pretty mature person seeing as how you have your own mindset and clear picture of what you want to achieve.

What i reccomend is to volunteer at a daycare maybe in order to enhance your ability to communicate and handle children seeing as how a career as a teacher requires you to have a certain amount of leadership skills in order to keep the kids in order. Also, you might want to try private tutoring for young children in elementary to get a grasp of what teaching is like.

However, one last thing i’d like to say is to always keep your options open in case things don’t go as planned. Also, before you make any moves, speak to your parents about your goals in order to gain their support. Support from family is very important because resistence in your blood relations can seriously affect how you perceive your future and can also give you large amounts of stress and confusion. Once you have those done, speak to your guidance counsellor at school and talk about your plans for the future and what courses you should be taking.

Good Luck

Of course its not bad. If you have a fixed goal then u can prepare for it from now!!!!!!!!!

But till 10th standard u should lay stress on each n every subject you study. But to know what one wants to be is not bad at all. Many people can’t even decide this though they are more than 18!

No it’s a good thing to already know what you want, you have a goal and you can move toward it faster then the majority of grade 9 students that have no idea what they want.

I commend you for having life goals at your age, most don’t.
