help memorizing street maps?
Hi,
Does anyone have any tips for memorising street maps (e.g. how london cab drivers train themselves for “the knowledge”).
I have an embarrassingly bad memory of suburbs/districts locations and particularly street names.
I’ve decided to make a bit of a project out of improving my memory abilities, but cant find any material at all.
I would be really grateful for any techniques you can pass on!

The easiest thing to do is to DRIVE the streets. That’s how you’ll learn which oneways go which ways. Test yourself on a bicycle, so you don’t burn gas. Good exercise, and it’ll help you learn where’s where.
