In theory everything coming into every nation goes through some form of border control or customs. In the US much of that is mechanical (sniffers for bombs, drugs, food . . . ). In my experience packages coming into the US I have had about 1 in 10 checked by hand, as evidenced by being opened.

No, by utilising sheer quantity of mail that arrives, they have not got the staff or time to fairly open hundreds of thousands of applications & products of mail that enter the country each and every 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. they are going to think on the subject of the beginning of the equipment while it comes via their device. They do x ray products besides, in the event that they see an anomaly, they are going to take a closer seem. applications could be held up because of the fact of quantity particularly around the yule era. different applications held up for motives of duties & taxes bypass lower back to the placed up place of work who then make a telephone call to the guy receiving the products. that may sluggish issues down, too.
