JUST ME

Do people in today’s society rely too heavily on technology?

In my opinion yes. First of all, as I was reading my history book, it stated that Roosevelt had written an excellent essay on the naval power of the war of 1812. Undoubtedly, he used a limited amount of resources, the main being books.

Today, however, we constantly use computers to look up answers to our homework(like Yahoo), as I did for a while which still left me profoundly confused on what I was doing. Also, children can barely read a 500 page novel such as Oliver Twist without complaining and just resort to Sparknotes for summaries (my classmates do this). Also, if you go to McDonalds or somewhere, many of the cashiers have difficulty computing basic math in their head, because students now rely heavily on the calc.

Overall, wouldn’t students learn more and be better off without the help of technology to solve all of their problems?

What do you think?

Yes. Calculators and computers and the like should not be allowed in grade school or Junior high.

You know what we are so relyany on technology that it is not funny anymore. The other day i was making myself some dinner on the microwave and guess ho much time i put in? I had punched in my ATM pin number. It is getting worse that you email someone who lives in the same house or work together. You cannot communicate with someone bcoz they do not have an email. or you are your driveway and you use your cellphone to call people from the house to cme and help you with the grocery. It is not funny any more.

yes, why?

simple..

because :

1. books are out-to-date

2. net is faster

3. you can multitask on the net

4. the net is a multi-purpose tool.

but, the net is also causing some of the youths to be lazy,

so use the techology wisely!!!!
