Not having a crystal ball,I do not know if Uof Penn will accept you or not. These schools are known for taking the cream of the crop,and competition is fierce,because there are a lot of bright students out there.However,they also look at other factors,and do admit students,for other than academics alone. So,really in the end,you have nothing to lose by applying,. If that is not a school you are interested in,tthen why apply ? If it is , you maybe can find a way to discover what more you can do to make your application stand out.I doubt being Indian will do it alone. Perhaps being able to say you speak more than one language would give you an edge. I am assuming you are from India. If so,have you traveled to India ? Done any volunteer work there ? Time in India during the summer volunteering I would think is quite impressive for a high school kid to do.If that is not possible can you list on your application any cultural organizations you belong to that are Indian ?Penn does like diversity, but they have a lot of Indian students.I know because a while ago I use to live near that campus. Call admissions,either you or someone else,and ask besides academics,what else does the school look for ? Hope things work out the best for you.
