Why did the government make the prohibition law?
My english teacher is making us do a project on the Roaring twentie’s to get us ready to read “The Great Gatsby”, and my group has to talk about Prohibition, Speakeasies, and Crimes. Can you please give me some information about why the government started prohibition and outlaw alcohol.

This was made because the Americans were drinking too much alcohol and thats what they spent all their money on, and the country had problems so they tried to switch things up and ban alcohol but as u kno now that didnt work because ppl would make their own and sell it
