When does school typically start in Latin American countries?

Trying to find articles about the first day of school in a Spanish speaking country & it’s not going well. Any ideas where to find some?

In Colombia there are two “Calendars” or dates:

Calendar A: Which begins in the first week of February and have their summer break mid-June to mid-July after which they resume until the 15th of November

Calendar B: Begins in some schools on the 16th and others on the 25th of August and usually ends on the second week of June yet school staff carry on until the 30th of June. This is the most prefered schedule for top-notch Bilingual schools as it coincides with industrial countries abroad.

There may be a slight difference in days but by law there must be 40 weeks of schooling.

The reason there are two calanders is mainly to cope with aspects related to the sweltering heat (Some schools begin at 7 and end at half past twelve – especially public schools) and so that late-comers can also have a chance to study.

In some central American countries – college semester started today.

Kinder through High school starts in March, vacation sporadically and holidays and the year ends in early December.

The academic year goes with the calendar year.

I can’t say exactly the day, but I know they start about the same time they start here.

Somewhere between the end of August, and the beginning of September.
