Transmission electron microscope works by using electron beams to illuminate. Electrons scatter when passed through (transmit through) the thin sections of a specimen. The transmitted electrons are the ones that produce the image, not the ones being scattered.
Scanning Electron Microscope forms an image from electrons released from the atoms on the specimen’s surface.
Organism is usually covered with a thin layer of metal to produce a build up of electrical charge to give a better image.
