What word could I use to describe how a ghost moves?
All I can think of is gliding, but I don’t know if that’s quite right.

Wafting? Gliding is good – drifting would work. Almost anything that gives the notion of moving from one place to another without visible propulsion. Protoplasmic shifting is another possiblity.
