What is the total translational and rotational energies?

A ball of mass 1.5 kg rolls without slipping down an incline, attaining a speed of 15 m/s. What is the total of its translational and rotational energies? If no energy was lost due to friction, how far did it descend vertically down the incline?

. What is this; your physics/calculus question that you missed?

It’s really simple if you just consider these forces:

Potential energy is MgL sin q . Instead of displacement, use angular displacement.

Due to conservation of angular momentum this translates into Kt = (1/2)mv2. KE = 1.05 x115 Joules.

The distance, since there’s no loss energy or friction , would be infinite. .
