It is correct that family is an important part of Indian Culture as it is with most cultures. But the social structure is very different. In place is a caste system (strict classes). So harsh are these boundaries that it is not deemed acceptable to fraternize with other classes. They are as follows from highest to lowest:

Brahman or Priests

Kshatriya or Warrior/Landowner

Vaishya or Merchants

Shudra or Artisans and Farmers

Harijan are outside the caste system. The lowest of the low otherwise known as Pariahs or the “Untouchables”

Well, the people are very cultured. The families stick together. The food and traditions are very serious. Especially hindus dont eat any meat so they are very strict vegetarians. my family is indian and we always hang out for christmas and thanksgiving and also we are always having fun together but i am living in america the ppl in india r damn poor and cant afford water nowadays
