Dummy bullets are ones that can not be fired. They are different from blanks in that a blank can be fired from a gun or discharged without expelling a head or projectile. Dummies are made for training purposes.

Body armor is any bullet or knife resistant clothing that is worn over any part of the body. It’s an all encompassing term and covers things from helmets to shin guards and from knife resistant mesh to machine gun resistant armor that soldiers wear. Bullet proof vest is a colloquial term specifically for a piece of body armor protecting the chest, back, and/or underarm/sides from gunshots. Usually referring to the common handgun level chest armor, such as worn daily by many officers. It’s a bit of a misnomer, because no vest is bullet “proof”. Each vest level has a certain amount of protection, rated up to a certain power cartridge that it’s resistant to.

A dummy bullet is an inert round, incapable of being fired and doing any harm. A live round is just that.

Some people call hollow point rounds dum-dums.

a dumming bullet is packed with a plug of wax? or wad of paper and real ….lead. but a dummy bullet fired close ..within 6 inches of you can kill you if fired at your head.
