Nationalism is a mixture of patriotism, of endorsing whatever the national government proposes, and an attitude of ‘my country right or wrong’. In England and the British colonies, nationalism was at a fever pitch as the finest of the country’s young men marched off to war. It was also high in France. But it lagged far behind in the US, which is why they didn’t enter the war until two years after everone else.

However, once, they were in the propaganda machines went into overtime and there were many movies made promoting the war effort, songs about soldiers etc.

In peacetime, nationalism is a whole different critter. Then it means working to protect the best interests of the nation.

Nationalism is pride in ones country.

When the Arch Duke was shot, the man wanted his country not to be controlled by Austria-Hungary. Nationalism

The build up of forces was due to tensions formed between other European powers.- Nationalism

When the war started the enlistment rate was very high, before they had to even draft anybody.- Nationalism

There is many more, but these are a few.

Nationalism is a sense of identity with the nation. It is similar to tribalism, and like the family, is held together by a sense of kinship. One example during world war one was Austria-Hungary, other examples are Countries under the British rule. Take my country Ireland nationalism to be independent from British rule. There are loads of others

Nationalism is believing that your country is the best and the strongest. And in WWI, the people believed that they were the best so they fought to protect their country.

Love for your country, like American pride. Do the rest of your homework yourself though.
