what is Marxist perspective?
Favorite Answer
A believe in humanity as divided into classes based on their economic position – working class, middle class and upper class etc with the richer classes supressing the lower classes.
A belief that history constitutes a continuous struggle between these classes which will lead eventually and inexorably to the working classes taking power from the upper classes and ending the perceived supression.
A support/sympathy for these working classes and belief that their gaining power (thereby eliminating the class system) is the ultimate eutopia of humanity.
Possibly working towards a “workers revolution” to achieve this (not a universally accepted notion within marxism).
Thats basically it, though its quite a complicated topic when you start looking into it in any depth…
The word “equality” pops up a lot which means they think everybody should be equal (acheieved by the above mentioned elimination of economic classes). – Various theories then sprout up from different thinkers about how this would actually work – The nature of communist Russia was not one of them..
ECONOMICS and fulfilling man’s basic needs is everything in Marxism (need for food, shelter, comraderie). According to Marx, religion is not a need. Marx whittled down man’s basic needs, and created a theory of a utopian government that supplied all of man’s needs (as defined by Marx). Sounds good in theory, but difficult to implement.
