Say how two things are alike, and how two things are different.
Compare: an apple and an orange are both fruit, they both have a peel, both can be made into juice, and both contain vitamin C.
Contrast: an apple is red, and an orange is orange. An apple’s skin is eaten, but an orange’s peel is not. An apple can be made into a pie, but an orange cannot.

If I say compare and contrast a dog and a cat, you might say they are both four-legged mammals, one meows, the other one barks, both have claws, etc. State the similarities and the differences between two separate entities.

Compare= similarities
Contrast= differences
Basically, you need to take the two objects or subjects and write about their similarities and differences. Good Luck!

It just means to list the similarities and the differences. For example, a burglar and Santa both come down the chimney but one takes stuff away and the other leaves stuff. It’s not hard.

you take the two ideas/objects and analyze them. then describe any and all similarities between the two and then do the same with the differences. basically by doing this, you are to take a good look at the concepts/objects and further your understanding of them.
